CHRIS HARING
choreography, dance

Worked together with international choreographers and groups like DV8 Physical Theatre (Lloyd Newson/GB), Nikolai/Luis Dance Cie. (USA), man act (GB), Nigel Charnock (GB), Pilottanzt (A), Tanz*Hotel (A), Willi Dorner (A) amongst others.

In his own choreography above all he conceives of the technique-saturated body as the core of new artistic developments, functionally as well as in regard to the aesthetics of movement. Together with the multi-media artist and composer Klaus Obermaier he developed the video-dance performances “D.A.V.E.” and “VIVISECTOR” that have been played all over Europe and in Asia, the USA and Australia with great success.

His 2003 production of “FREMDKÖRPER” is strongly influenced by science fiction and shows the body as a cybernetic landscape (premiere: October 2003 Tanzquartier Wien. 2004: “best performance”, Biennale de la Danse Lyon.) In 2004 he choreographed the solo “Legal Errorist” (stage performance and film/Mara Mattuschka) and for ImPulsTanz the duo “…diese Körper, diese Spielverderber…[…this body, this spoilsport…]. The new pieces kind of heroes (premiered in Burgtheater Vienna 5/2005) and „my private bodyshop“, (premiered in October 2005 at Tanzquartier Vienna.), were presented as a leading Austria dance work in Brussels during the EU president ship and also shown at the Tanzplattform 2/2006.
